Google Calculator outsmarts G-Mail Mail Goggles

Sun 12 Oct 2008

Peter Black, internet law lecturer at QUT, had an article on “Mail Goggles” in the Curious-Mail last week.  I didn’t realize it at the time, but any drunkard confronted by a maths problem need look no further than Google itself for answers.

I suspect the real purpose of Mail Goggles is to get us all talking about Google and G-Mail.  If that’s the case - Mission Accomplished!

You know, to take this off topic, I thought the Beer Goggles gmail was primitive. I mean, I could still do those maths equations while intoxicated to the point where I could not walk. I thought that the ideal algorithm would determine your usual rate of spelling and gramatical errors, compare it to the amount you entered in the current e-mail while typing it, and thus blocking or warning you—?

So what you are saying is anyone with above average maths ability (such as yourself, I happen to know) should be forced to do the essay question. :)

Going even further off topic… type “Beer Goggles 85-62″ into google… man the results are staggering….

The only time an essay question should be thrown at anyone is in the absence of any means of response.
