G'day Steve, Thanks for stopping by. Yep, get that impeachment thing cranking over before GWB and Cheney stir up the Iranians and make things worse.

I guess you've already written to your congressmen.

Cheers -- Mike

G'day Mates,

As a Californian, I find it comforting to read in your blogs that the real people of Australia (not their governing puppets - like our own American ones) are also opposed to war and senseless killing for profit. Thanks to all for posting here!

Sadly, corporations are not interested in what's good for the planet nor for the people. As one of the prior posts here states, that's who's pulling these puppet's strings.

Now that we all know that we all know this, what can be done?

Cheers,
Steve Meiers

Well the team has us all outmanouvered... Sacrificing the front man may not kill the team... I agree we need to get our blokes home... Its one thing these upstarts over there killing ours and the US and Brit blokes ... how long will they kill their own countrymen? whats more, tying up the arms supply would wind down their thrust unless of course they are sitting on stock piles of munitions.

There is nothing more complicated than politics... The US senate and lower house passed that bill knowing it would be vetoed... Highlighting their president... one has to wonder whether the power brokers are mustering the wagons for a fight... Bush of course knows he cant have another term in office... he plays as the puppet president... and the yanks do not like puppets...

One can not help the timing of that bill, with published protest rallies. I guess that did the trick eh? Nah I dont think attacking the president gets the boys home... but good try...

On a personal note, I envy yourself and Maureen and hold hopes that you will toast the town in my absence. One day perhaps myself and Mrs Coyote will walk that path and still be able to enjoy the freedoms our chaps are all out there protecting.

Be safe guys and enjoy your trip, post more pics please...

G'day Wile: If he's not doing itself, he's at least the frontman for the team pulling the strings. Today he vetoed a bill, which had been passed by both the House and the Senate, which tied on-going funding for the Iraq war to a schedule for pull-out.

Hi Mez: Yep it was great fun. And cheap too. Just interminable bag-checks. Security is a growth industry here.

Thanks Steph. Yep, there are some things too important to stay silent about. And I'll pass your suggestion on to Mrs Fitz.

Its a good thing you have a guest blogger to visit you in ... hey how is guitmo .... Ill bake you a cake with an ACME file in it..

man... do you really think its George W pulling the strings? He is the head of a democracy, which means those who have the most influence on the economy have the most influence on him.

My comment is this... those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it... when was the right time to pull out of Korea, or Vietnam? We all went in there to stop the communist threat...

When was the right time for Russia to pull out of Afganistan? Not even sure why they went in there.... Lets go back even further... the crusades against the sarrisans???

If George W is lying to his minions, they wont tolerate it. But removing him wont necessarily bring home the troops. To accuse him of lying is extremely brave. What we really need is an alternative to troops on the ground to flush out this blight. What we need is for their own minions to highlight them. They have a democracy installed. It is their right to fix the issues. Hey heres an idea, what if we banned the guns from the affected countries. hmmm would that stop the bombs? Nah, but it would stop the rocket attacks. Someone is selling the arms in there...

My message to the terroists is this. Do you realise that the soldiers are always the ones who die? Bin ladin is still out there. His head architects are still out there. None of them die in the bombings. They find some faithful down on his luck, pump him or her up with delusions of paradise. A great tragedy befalls them and all they touch, and leave behind. Why is it that those who are left behind dont highlight the antagonists? Show me where in any religion it says its ok to take your own life. Show me where it says to kill the non believers... To kill in the name of god/allah/buddha is so wrong. The justification for killing is religious right? cripes... what if someone started believing in snails... the snails told me it was ok... how is that any more rediculous than god/allah/buddha told me to do it.

Its a fact that in a war a death toll increases. Its also a fact that there are still terrorist activities in the world. Its not only the soldiers who are dying out there, theres a whole bunch of civilians around the world dying through bombings.

Its also a fact that nobody ever wins in a war. We were reminded of that on 25th April. The cost is too high.
