XNA Game Studio Express and Xbox Live Arcade

Sun 12 Nov 2006

Qld MSDN User GroupI could tell we had a hot topic for this month’s QMSDNUG meeting, as soon as I saw the flood of RSVPs.  Several acceptances came in immediately I updated the website - even before the first batch of meeting notices were e-mailed out.

The meeting will cover the skills and tools an enthusiast will need to experiment with game development.  The agenda in brief…

Zsolt and Jason are two of Microsoft’s top Game Technology experts.  Full details on the QMSDNUG website.

Thanks to Chuck Sterling and Prof Paul Roe for helping put the meeting together.

We’re even drawing attention from interstate.  XNA developer Mykre has posted a plea for sponsorship so he can fly from Melbourne to attend.

Is there an age limit on attendance at this QMSDNUG meeting? I have a 10 yr old who aspires to be a games tester.

    G’day Ray,

Is there a 10 yr old who doesn’t aspire to be a games tester? Do you mind if I answer your question closer to the day when I can compare the number of RSVPs with the capacity of the room?

    Cheers — Mike

PS. I think most of our members would expect that the content would be well beyond the capacity of a 10 yr old.

Mate… Im in Hong Kong and wont see it… PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE record it so we can catch up with it… Games development is pushing some graphic manipulation tools into our arena… so it will be interesting to hear where game development is heading.
