I’m not worthy! I’m not worthy!

— Wayne and Garth bowing down before Alice Cooper, Wayne’s World (1992)
Last month, I was honoured to be included in Frank Arrigo’s list of top 10 referrers. This list contained some august company indeed and I was certainly pleased to be on it.
But ever since then, I have tossed and turned at night, wondering how I managed to refer so much traffic to Frank’s blog. I mean, we’re talking Frank here! The Robert Scoble of Australia! Suggested by many as the Scobleizer’s replacement or Microsoft’s new #1 blogger. He with the stellar LinkedIn stats.
This cannot be right. Am I really worthy of making Frank’s top 10? Has Frank made a blue when compiling his stats? Hmmm…
I had a closer look at Frank’s top 10 list. I note that they all had their own domain names, eg
My own entry also fits this pattern:
Entirely missing from this list are blogs with URLs like…
http://msmvps.com/blogs/greglow/,http://blogs.msdn.com/charles_sterlingandhttp://spaces.msn.com/members/YourBlogNameHere
I know Frank said he eliminated fellow Microsofties (and probably Readifiers) from his analysis. Maybe in doing so, he has eliminated many other bloggers who share the same domain names. Or maybe I have uncovered a correlation between geek bloggers with their own domain names and heavy traffic? Are these related as cause and effect? And which one causes the other?
OK, now I have that off my chest, I’ll stop looking this gift horse in the mouth and just say “Thanks for the link, Frank”. Maybe I can get some sleep now.

Hey, Frank’s right…stats don’t lie.
I have no real idea how LK got to be no 1 referrer. My best quess is it’s most likely something to do with the Bluetooth/PDA conversation and people following the threads on that as that’s one of the five top content items and it has a link to Frank.
So I think it’s the King and Queens of blogging operating again - Connection (forstered by conversation) and Content.
However it happened, I’ll accept it!
Thanks Frank.

Hey Mike,
The fact is that everyone that means someone is either working for someone that already is someone. The rest of us (independent guys) mean a lot to the entire system.
Check out this list of Top 25 Tech Bloggers that I found eye opening too.
Keep up the great work mate!
